SIBUR actively participates in supporting the implementation of the gasification program in Russia
SIBUR and the Association of Gas Equipment Manufacturers (APGO) signed a cooperation agreement in the area of support and development of projects in the field of gasification of the Russian Federation.
The partnership of the parties will be aimed at developing and implementing innovative technological solutions, developing new research areas and jointly implementing educational projects. In addition, it is planned to create a system for exchanging experience and developing innovative activities together with leading industrial enterprises in the gas industry and government agencies.
SIBUR actively participates in supporting the implementation of the gasification program in Russia, providing the industry with high-quality modern polymer raw materials for the production of pipeline systems. The expansion of the production of polymer pipes for gas transportation contributes to the growth of gasification rates and the improvement of gas supply infrastructure in the regions.
Polyethylene pipes are mainly used in the construction of gas distribution networks. More than 100 thousand tons of polyethylene are required annually to produce the required volume of pipes for gasification.
Polymer solutions are highly durable and have a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional materials. The use of polyethylene pipes increases the service life of gas pipeline systems many times over, reduces the cost of their installation and increases the speed of installation. It is worth noting the high resistance of polymer pipes to aggressive environments, which reduces the accident rate and has a positive effect on the efficiency of gas pipeline systems throughout the entire life cycle.
Ruslan Khairullin, Director of the Engineering and Road Infrastructure Division, SIBUR, said: "Modern synthetic materials play a key role in increasing the reliability and safety of gas pipeline operation. The introduction of polymer solutions allows not only to increase the service life of pipelines, but also to improve their performance characteristics, which is critical for the sustainable maintenance and development of gas infrastructure. SIBUR's cooperation with APGO will not only expand the use of polymer materials in pipe production, but also facilitate the joint development and implementation of new solutions for the industry."
