Bharat Certis AgriScience Ltd., a group company of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Japan and a leading crop protection products company launched its village outreach initiative under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Bhiwani District of Haryana.
Dr. Gulab Singh, Chief Scientist, KVK Bhiwani planted a Papdi (Holoptela integrifolia) tree in Village Khera of Tehsil Siwani, District Bhiwani, Haryana, and inaugurated the tree plantation drive organised by the company. On this occasion over 100 trees were planted in the village. The company will carry out this program in 4 other villages and plant about 400 more trees.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh emphasised the role of trees in conserving the soil, fighting climate change and helping in fight against pollution. He informed the farmers about the service provided by the KVK. He lauded the company for this noble initiative and assured full support of KVK- Bhiwani in farmer-oriented programs under this project.
The company has adopted 5 villages in Haryana under its CSR program. Apart from tree plantation, the company will work on imparting training by experts to farmers on best practices of agriculture and safe use of pesticides. It will also take initiatives related to healthcare of villagers and education of children.
The program was presided over by Dharmesh Gupta, Managing Director, Bharat Certis AgriSciences Ltd. and addressed by V. K. Chaudhary, GM-Sales and Sudhanshu Srivastava, Product Manager.
Dharmesh Gupta informed the gathering that the company has committed to the welfare of farmers and hence we are adopting these villages. Our primary aim is to enhance the productivity of Indian agriculture and our CSR program will focus on this aspect.
This meeting was attended by over 200 farmers from the beneficiary village Khera (Siwani) and nearby villages. Farmers were very happy with the social initiatives being undertaken by the company and felt that it would contribute to the well being of the area.
