Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Limited has clarified in reference to the recent directive from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Department of Food and Public Distribution, impacting the ethanol production process.

As per the directive received, all the sugar mills and distilleries are mandated to stop using sugar syrup or sugar cane juice for the production of ethanol. Consequently, both the distilleries situated in Bundki (Dwarikesh Nagar) unit and Faridpur (Dwarikesh Dham) unit have suspended the use of sugarcane juice / syrup as feedstock for ethanol production.

Since, it is permitted to produce Ethanol from B heavy molasses, the company has transitioned to using B heavy molasses immediately as the feedstock for the production of ethanol. The company already has necessary infrastructure in place for this transition at our both the said units. At this juncture, the financial implications stemming from this recalibration are unquantifiable.
