Vivilen is created using innovative technology by mixing recycled plastic with virgin raw materials
SIBUR announced that it had reached a record level in the collection of plastic waste. The company contributed to the collection and recycling of two billion plastic bottles. They are used in the production of Vivilen rPET polymer granules, intended for food packaging, which contain up to 30% recycled plastic. The anniversary account was closed by 2020 Olympic fencing champion Timur Safin.
Vivilen production was launched two years ago at the Polief plant in Blagoveshchensk (Republic of Bashkortostan). The creation of Vivilen granules using recycled plastic has become a new stage in the development of a closed-loop economy in Russia. Many water and beverage manufacturers are already using Vivilen for their products.
Niyaz Fazylov, Minister of Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Bashkortostan, said: "2 billion collected PET bottles is an important environmental achievement, especially within the framework of such a significant sporting event as the All-Russian Walking Day. This emphasizes that caring for the environment and the introduction of closed-loop principles can and should go hand in hand with the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Recycling plastic waste, SIBUR's production of Vivilen granules using secondary raw materials is a step towards a cleaner and more environmentally responsible future, both for our republic and for the entire country."
Vivilen is created using innovative technology by mixing recycled plastic with virgin raw materials. The collected bottles that are involved in the production of granules undergo several stages of sorting and crushing, are thoroughly cleaned and washed, and are used in production in the form of plastic flakes.
