These luminaries, whose contributions have left a lasting impact on the nation’s development, will be bestowed with the prestigious title Rasayan Udyog Maharshi
The Indian Chemical Society (ICS), established on May 9, 1924, under the visionary leadership of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray as its founding president, supported by eminent scientists like S. S. Bhatnagar, J. N. Mukherjee, and J. C. Ghose, is planning to honour heroes of the chemical industry in its Grand Centennial Jubilee.
Padmashri Professor G. D. Yadav, President, Indian Chemical Society and a distinguished personality in the chemical and allied sectors, and academia said, "The society will honour the heroes of yester years who made immense contributions to shaping Indian chemical and allied industries. These sectors include refineries, bulk chemicals, organic and inorganic chemicals, intermediates, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, agrochemicals, fertilizers, paints, pigments, polymers, plastics, fragrances and flavors, EPC, water chemicals, waste management, minerals, energy chemicals, consulting utilities, and emerging areas such as green energy and electronics."
"These luminaries, whose contributions have left a lasting impact on the nation’s development, will be bestowed with the prestigious title Rasayan Udyog Maharshi. To commemorate their legacy, the Society will document their life stories in a special coffee-table book and honour them posthumously during the celebrations," commented Yadav.
“We request assistance in providing information and relevant photographs in the prescribed format for this initiative from various industries. Their contributions will be remembered forever,” said Prof. Yadav.
The Society has invited family members or representatives of the honourees to attend the event on the evening of January 28, where the awards will be conferred by a distinguished VVIP.
This event promises to be a fitting tribute to the legends of the Indian chemical industry and a celebration of their invaluable legacy.
