The company will continue its growth and develops itself as a broad energy company within the framework of an integrated strategy around four areas
Total SE has become a responsible energy company and has been named as TotalEnergies SE which has been approved in the Combined Shareholders' Meeting.
The Shareholders' Meeting also approved the renewal of the terms of office of Anne-Marie Idrac and Patrick Pouyanne as Directors, and appointment of Jacques Aschenbroich and Glenn Hubbard as Directors for a period of three years.
The Board of Directors has decided unanimously to reappoint Patrick Pouyanne as Chairman and CEO for the duration of his term of office as Director.
TotalEnergies will be a responsible energy company that produces and markets fuels, natural gas and electricity. Active in more than 130 countries with 100,000 employees, the company is committed to better energy that is more affordable, more reliable, cleaner and accessible to as many people as possible.
The focus of the company is increasing energy while decreasing emissions. The mission of the new company is to meet growing energy demand worldwide while moving to a lower-carbon global energy mix and more environmentally friendly operations. All this will lead to creating long term value for shareholders.
TotalEnergies will continue its growth and develops itself as a broad energy company within the framework of an integrated strategy around four areas: Natural gas - Grow LNG and develop biogas/clean H2 and promote natural gas for power and mobility; Electricity - Accelerate investments in electricity generated primarily from renewables and integrate along the electricity value chain (production, storage, trading, supply); Petroleum products - Focus investments on low cost oil and biofuels and adapt refining capacity and sales to demand in Europe; and Carbon neutrality - Investing in natural carbon sinks (forests and wetlands) and CCUS (Carbon Capture, Use and Storage)
In 2019, the energy basket for Total in terms of Peta Joule is a mix of Oil Products (55%), Natural Gas (40%) and Biogas and Hydrogen (5%) and this energy mix is going to change in 2030. In the next decade, oil products sales from TotalEnergies will diminish by almost 30% while TotalEnergies' energy production will grow by one third, half from Liquefied Natural Gas, half from electricity, mainly from renewables. In 2030, TotalEnergy mix will become Oil Products (30%), Biofuels (5%), Gas (50%) and Electrons (15%).
Speaking on the development, Pouyanne said, “This transformation into a broad energy company that places sustainable development at the heart of its strategy, its projects and its operations is a transformation that will mobilize the entire company. The reality is that TotalEnergies is becoming one of the most active players in the energy transition.”
TotalEnergies shares the ambition to get to Net Zero emissions by 2050, together with society, for its global business across its production of the energy products used by its customers. Hope this new development will help the company to achieve it in the given time frame.
