The capex for Mahanagar Gas Limited for FY2023 will be in the range of Rs. 600 - 700 crore as per Q4 FY2022 Earnings Conference Call.

In FY 2022, Mahanagar Gas Limited spent around Rs. 600 crore or little more. However, the company is ready to go for more Capex in FY2023 and this depends on how things span out with respect to the permission which is needed from local authorities with respect to railways crossing, availability of land for putting up CNG stations etc. So the company is geared to do more and the required amount of Capex could be in the range of 600 - 700 crore for the next year as well.

For FY2023, the company is planning for a better growth than that of 5 - 6% achieved in FY2022. The company is expecting at least 7 - 8% and this growth depends a lot on factors like what kind of differential price will be there between CNG and alternate fuels because CNG is a bigger chunk i.e. almost 3/4th of Mahanagar Gas Limited volume, industrial as the company enters into Raigad and a few other places with price gap now, the company is expecting some increase in volume also.

Domestic and commercial sales have steadily increased to more than 1.2 lakh domestic customers burning additional gas every year. They contribute a little bit and that does not add too much to the overall kitty as per capita consumption is a bit low but yes it also contributes and about 300 odd commercial customers that add on every also contribute a little bit.

During Q4 FY2022 quarter, 79,130 domestic households were connected and the company has established connectivity with about 1.86 million households. During FY 2021-22, the company provided connectivity to 2.62 lakh households and bettered their previous best of providing 1.98 lakh connectivity. The company laid 125 km of steel and PE pipelines in the quarter thereby taking the aggregated pipeline length to about 6,221 km.

The company added 14 new CNG stations with these and currently has 290 stations. The company has added 107 I&C consumers and thus as on quarter end the company has 4,339 I&C commercial customers.

In respect of Raigarh GA, the company has connected to 53,030 domestic households and 23 CNG stations are currently operational. During the quarter the company laid 26.23 km of pipeline in Raigarh GA thereby taking the total length of pipeline to 346 km. The expansion of the pipeline network has also resulted in the commissioning of the first online CNG station in Raigarh GA at Somatane.
