BASF and its European distribution arm BTC Europe are set to unveil a wide-ranging portfolio of packaging innovations at interpack, the world’s leading trade fair for packaging and processing technology.
The event will run from May 7 to 13, 2026, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The chemicals giant's focus is firmly on material innovation, recycling-compatible systems, and sustainable packaging concepts designed to meet evolving regulatory and industry demands.
At the centre of its showcase is Ultramid Ccycled, a polyamide solution for food and sensitive applications, alongside a new innovation, Ultramid H, described as the first thermoplastic polyamide offering high water permeability.
BASF will also highlight a suite of adhesive technologies aimed at improving recyclability across packaging formats. These include Epotal® laminating adhesives for PET multilayer separation and safe recyclate production, as well as label adhesives designed for easy removal from PET, glass, paper, and cardboard using acResin and Acronal RCF systems.
In printing and coating applications, BASF will present its water-based Joncryl resins, engineered for repulpable, recycling-compatible packaging while enabling CO₂ reductions through bio-based, mass-balanced, and chemcycled inputs.
The company will also feature ecovio, a certified home-compostable biopolymer used in both flexible and rigid packaging—from ultra-thin films to high-barrier FMCG applications—compatible with organic and paper recycling streams.
According to BASF, the portfolio is designed to address the full packaging value chain, aligning with frameworks such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The solutions offer multiple end-of-life pathways, including organic and mechanical recycling, and are targeted at industries ranging from food and pet food to pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and industrial goods.
