A major clean energy partnership has been launched to accelerate hydrogen and high-efficiency power solutions in Southeast Asia, as Elcogen teams up with Bonicorn Co., Ltd and Eltronic PtX to roll out solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology across Thailand.

The collaboration was formally unveiled at a signing ceremony held in Bangkok on March 23, 2026, where the three companies outlined their shared ambition to accelerate the region’s energy transition and strengthen the clean energy ecosystem.

The partnership brings together Elcogen’s advanced SOFC technology, Eltronic PtX’s engineering and power-to-X system integration expertise, and Bonicorn’s role as a local strategic bridge into Thailand’s fast-growing clean energy market.

Together, the companies plan to develop high-efficiency clean power systems based on SOFC technology, including green hydrogen production through solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOEC), alongside scalable industrial energy solutions.

A key focus of the initiative is scaling production capacity to meet rising demand from energy-intensive sectors such as Thailand’s expanding data centre industry, with potential spillover across Southeast Asia.

SOFC systems are being positioned as a fast-deploying alternative to conventional power generation infrastructure, which can take years to build, including associated transmission expansion.

The technology is also expected to support corporate sustainability reporting under frameworks such as those of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, helping listed firms advance their ESG and SDG commitments.

Speaking at the event, Bonicorn CEO Piyachat Rerkyen said the partnership is designed to connect global innovation with regional opportunity.

"Thailand and Southeast Asia are entering a decisive phase in the global energy transition. Building a strong clean energy ecosystem requires the integration of world-class technology with strong local market capabilities.

"Bonicorn’s vision is to serve as a bridge between global innovation and regional opportunities. Our goal is to make green hydrogen and green electricity affordable, while accelerating the development of a clean energy ecosystem in Thailand and Southeast Asia,” he said.

"With the Thai government’s clear vision for clean energy development and the growing commitment of industrial sectors toward sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals, we are confident that Bonicorn’s solid oxide fuel cell solutions will receive strong interest and adoption. Bonicorn is currently in discussions with potential project developers to provide SOFC solutions for power supply across industrial estates, data centers, and green island projects.”

Elcogen echoed the momentum behind the initiative, highlighting the scalability of its technology for both power generation and hydrogen production.

"We are pleased to collaborate with Bonicorn and Eltronic PtX to bring advanced solid oxide technology to one of the world’s most promising energy markets. Our expertise in high-performance solid oxide cells enables efficient electricity generation and hydrogen production for next-generation energy systems.

"We are looking forward to expanding our presence and footprint in Thailand to support the expansion of clean energy markets across Southeast Asia,” said Hannu Anttila, Elcogen Sales Director.
