FMC India appoints Prashant Hegde as new MD

FMC India has appointed Prashant Hegde as its new Managing Director.

Prashant brings nearly thirty years of deep expertise in the agriculture ecosystem, with a distinguished career spanning marketing, sales leadership, transformation programmes, and large-scale integration projects.

Before joining FMC, Prashant served as CEO - Agri at PI Industries, where he established a robust foundation for future expansion, initiated the biologicals business, and built a capable team, preparing the organization for its next evolutionary phase.

Prashant started his career at the Searle Company and moved to work with Wockhardt, PI Industries, Monsanto, and Bayer CropScience. 

During his tenure at Monsanto Company, he was instrumental in driving strong revenue growth for the India sales team across the crop protection and seeds businesses.

Following the acquisition by Bayer, he led the integration of the Bayer and Monsanto vegetable seeds businesses throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and subsequently headed the combined APAC business and team.

Prashant has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. Prashant also holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Additionally, he completed an MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from Monash University.
