Suzlon has unveiled an ambitious transformation strategy, positioning itself beyond its traditional role as a wind turbin manufacturer to become a fully integrated renewable energy solutions provider.
Branded as Suzlon 2.0, the new growth blueprint aims to transform the company into one of the world's most integrated renewable energy businesses by FY31, with plans to quadruple annual renewable energy sales to 10 GW, expand its order book to 15 GW, and grow assets under management (AUM) fourfold to 70 GW.
The strategy is built around four core business verticals—Wind-First Full Stack Renewable Energy Solutions, RE DevCo, RE Projects, and RE Asset Management Services—creating an end-to-end renewable energy platform designed to deliver projects faster, at greater scale, and with long-term operational reliability.
As global electrification accelerates, Suzlon is sharpening its focus on becoming a single-point renewable energy partner offering wind, solar, battery storage, and energy management services under one delivery model.
The company expects its growth to be driven by maintaining approximately 40% market share in India's wind energy market, securing 3 GW of export order intake, and increasing the contribution of its RE DevCo business to nearly 60% of total volumes by FY31.
Wind energy will continue to be Suzlon's primary growth engine. The company plans to expand its next-generation turbine portfolio through its BlueSky platform, led by high-capacity models including the S175 (5 MW) and S163 (6.3 MW), while maintaining a broader range of turbines from 2 MW to over 6 MW.
In a significant diversification move, Suzlon is entering the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) segment to address renewable energy intermittency and strengthen grid reliability.
The company plans to establish a dedicated BESS manufacturing facility by 2027, focused on developing intelligent storage solutions tailored to Indian grid requirements.
At the heart of Suzlon 2.0 is RE DevCo, which the company describes as India's first integrated renewable energy co-development platform. The business will focus on accelerating project readiness through end-to-end development services spanning land acquisition, grid connectivity, approvals, and project execution.
By solving critical bottlenecks around site readiness and project execution, Suzlon expects RE DevCo to play a central role in scaling renewable energy deployment across India.
Suzlon is also significantly expanding its asset management business, targeting 70 GW of assets under management by FY31. The company will offer lifecycle management services across wind, solar, hybrid, and multi-brand renewable energy portfolios, leveraging digital technologies and its nationwide service network to maximize asset performance.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group said, "As the world enters a super-cycle of electrification, Suzlon 2.0 is built to partner with customers and nations to accelerate the energy transition.
"We deliver energy security through firm, reliable, and affordable wind-first, full stack renewable solutions- from concept to commissioning to lifetime asset management. In the next 5 years, we aim to grow our renewable fleet under management by 4x to 70 GW and annual RE sales of 10 GW.”
Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group said, “RE DevCo will be the growth engine of Suzlon 2.0. As India's first integrated renewable energy co-development platform, it is designed to solve the industry's biggest challenge by accelerating project readiness, scale, and reducing time-to-market.
"We aim to capture 60% of our volume contribution from RE DevCo, leading to 40% market share in the Indian wind market. We are targeting 15 GW of RE orderbook and 3 GW of export order intake by FY31. "
Dharini Mishra, Chief Brand and Reputations Officer, Suzlon Group, said, “The world no longer needs just more clean energy - it needs clean energy that works. As energy becomes the foundation of economic growth and human progress, reliability matters as much as sustainability. "
Alongside the strategic shift, Suzlon has introduced a new brand promise—"Good Energy That Works."
The company said the positioning reflects its commitment to delivering renewable energy solutions that are dependable, accessible, affordable, integrated, and intelligent.
According to Suzlon, the phrase captures its belief that renewable energy must not only be sustainable but also consistently deliver performance, reliability, and value for customers, communities, and economies.
