This partnership builds on that work, creating a platform for training and sharing knowledge between students and teachers of UPL University and of the University of Oxford
The Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Oxford (Oxford) and UPL Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together, extending an existing 5-year agreement around sustainable food systems and climate change.
This partnership builds on that work, creating a platform for training and sharing knowledge between students and teachers of UPL University and of the University of Oxford.
This partnership will see a select number of elected faculty members from UPL University of Sustainable Technology (UPL University) travel to Oxford each year for a special training programme based in Somerville College. They will take part in learning activities and explore the Centre’s research and teaching. The first training session will begin in the summer of 2026.
Experts from the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development will also join UPL University’s academic programme. They will deliver an extra-curricular series of seminars to help students learn about important topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sustainable Development, Climate Action, and Technology Innovation. Two online lectures and one in-person lecture on these subjects are planned for the coming academic year especially for UPL University students.
The Oxford India Centre will also conduct outreach workshops explaining relevant opportunities for admissions and scholarships. Students at UPL University can explore avenues for studying or research at the University of Oxford in the future.
This collaboration will help build a strong connection between UPL University and the Oxford India Centre at the University of Oxford and start a long-lasting exchange of knowledge.
