MAIRE’s Nextchem bags China deal for advanced chemical plant

The deal delivers licensing, a process design package, and technical services for the facility

MAIRE has landed a fresh win in China, with its sustainable technology arm Nextchem clinching a contract to support the development of a new Trimellitic Anhydride (TMA) production plant.
 
The deal, awarded by a major Chinese industrial player, will see Nextchem—through its subsidiary Conser—deliver licensing, a Process Design Package, and technical services for the facility. The project underscores growing demand in China for advanced, energy-efficient chemical production technologies.
 
At the heart of the project is Nextchem’s proprietary TMA technology, part of its NX CONSER C5+ portfolio. The solution enables continuous production while prioritizing safety, reliability, and reduced consumption of power, steam, and water—an increasingly critical factor for manufacturers facing tighter environmental and efficiency standards.
 
TMA is a vital building block in modern industry, used to produce high-performance plasticizers for polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a material widely deployed in electrical systems, automotive components, and medical devices. It also plays a key role in coatings and polyester resin manufacturing.
 
The project will roll out in two phases, giving the client flexibility to scale development in line with broader strategic goals. The agreement also leaves the door open for Nextchem to supply proprietary equipment at a later stage, potentially expanding the scope of the partnership.
