Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Odisha on 6 March 2026 will dedicate to the nation the Sulphuric Acid Plant established by IFFCO. He will dedicate to the nation the Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP-III) installed at IFFCO's Paradip plant at a function to be held in Paradip.

The new facility is designed to strengthen fertiliser production infrastructure and improve chemical processing efficiency to support agricultural productivity.

The commissioning of this third plant marks a significant expansion of the Paradip facility, which is already India's largest integrated phosphatic fertiliser complex.

The new plant has a daily production capacity of 2,000 Metric Tonnes (MT). The project was conceptualised with an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 400 crore.

It aims to enhance domestic fertiliser production, improve operational efficiency, and reduce dependency on imported raw materials for phosphoric acid manufacturing.
