Borealis and Borouge have rolled out Recleo, a new global brand of mechanically recycled polyolefins aimed at giving manufacturers a simpler, scalable route to using more sustainable materials.

The portfolio brings together post-industrial (PIR) and post-consumer (PCR) recyclates under one banner, targeting sectors from mobility and construction to appliances, infrastructure, and consumer goods.

The launch creates a broader circular offering alongside the companies’ premium Borcycle M range, which uses exclusively post-consumer waste for high-end applications. Together, the brands are designed to cover the full spectrum of customer needs for recycled content.

Made from verified PIR and PCR waste streams, Recleo grades help companies cut carbon footprints and keep plastic resources in circulation. Many grades already meet evolving regulatory demands, including the EU’s incoming End-of-Life Vehicle Regulation (ELVR) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Several are RecyClass certified and produced to the IATF 16949 quality standard.

“With Recleo, we are reorganizing an important part of our mechanically recycled portfolio that is highly relevant to our customers. It unites our fit-for-purpose mechanically recycled grades into a global portfolio and makes sustainability affordable in all applications. With our Borcycle M brand, we will continue to serve the most demanding premium applications,” explains Dirk Langhammer, Borealis VP Circular Economy Solutions. “This makes our offering clearer and easier to navigate, helping customers choose the solutions that best meet their needs.”

Borealis and Borouge say Recleo will be available worldwide, backed by consistent quality and the companies’ global technical network. The products are engineered to integrate seamlessly with their virgin polyolefin portfolios, enabling customers to boost recycled content without sacrificing performance—particularly in film and other extrusion processes.

“Recleo expands customer access to certified recycled materials at scale,” says Youssef Taha, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Innovation, Borouge. “By consolidating our recycled portfolio under one brand, we help customers integrate circular materials more easily into existing production systems.”

The new brand is positioned to meet rising demand for recycled content as sustainability targets tighten across industries. Borealis and Borouge frame the launch as part of their joint mission to “reinvent essentials for sustainable living,” offering a global platform that helps keep plastics in circulation and reduces reliance on virgin feedstocks.
