PureCycle Technologies announced that the company, together with Churchill Container, has won the 2025 U.S. Plastics Pact Sustainable Packaging Innovation Award in the Postconsumer Recycled (PCR) Content category. The recognition highlights Churchill’s Run It Back product line, which is made using PureCycle’s PureFive resin.

Launched in February 2025, the Run It Back line of cups and containers features up to 100 per cent recycled content sourced from PureCycle. The Cleveland Browns became the first professional sports team to use the Run It Back products in their stadium for the team’s 2025 season collectible player cups.

PureCycle CEO Dustin Olson said, “This award represents years of collaboration between PureCycle and Churchill Container and signals where the industry is headed. Together, we have demonstrated that a dissolution recycling process can deliver a circular solution for food-contact applications like Churchill’s cups. We believe this is just the beginning and look forward to continuing our work together.”

Winners of the 2025 U.S. Plastics Pact Sustainable Packaging Innovation Awards were selected based on environmental impact, commercial viability, and the potential to advance the industry toward circularity.

U.S. Plastics Pact President & CEO Jonathan Quinn commented, “We’re seeing consumers’ preference for sustainably made goods accelerate. The U.S. Plastics Pact is excited to see new innovations emerging to meet this need.” He added, “As a sports fan myself, it’s encouraging to see this product actively used by a professional team, signaling a promising future for sustainability in sports venues and beyond.”

Churchill Container expects sustained interest in the Run It Back line from organizations committed to sustainability.

“The power of sports to inspire change is truly unique, and engaging fans in the recycling process is critical to success,” said Erik Johnson, Product Director at Churchill Container. “By purchasing a 100 per cent up-cycled Run It Back collectible cup, fans play an active role in the circular supply chain. It serves as a tangible reminder that recycling works and that the challenge of plastic waste can be overcome through technological innovation.”
