Alleima has expanded its manufacturing capabilities in India by launching the local production of SAF 2906 and SAF 3006 high-performance stainless steel grades at its Mehsana, Gujarat, facility.

SAF 2906 is specifically engineered for the rigorous demands of urea production and SAF 3006 is a versatile super-duplex alloy designed for the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, and marine sectors.

Both grades provide superior corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, reducing maintenance costs and extending equipment lifespans in harsh environments.

Since 1983, India has remained a vital market for Alleima. Between 2019 and 2023, the company invested 180 MSEK to transform the Mehsana plant into a high-tech regional hub, recently adding advanced heat exchanger and tubing production lines.

By producing these advanced materials locally, Alleima aligns with the "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiatives. This move bolsters India’s industrial self-reliance and provides the high-performance materials necessary for the country’s ongoing energy transition.

“As one of the world’s fastest-growing industrial economies, India represents a significant long-term opportunity for advanced materials. By producing these high-performance alloys in Mehsana, we are strengthening local supply, supporting India’s industrial ambitions, and enabling customers to operate more productively and sustainably,” said Sharath Satish, President, Business Unit Tube Asia Pacific (APAC) at Alleima.
