ICL, a leading global specialty minerals company, has signed a long-term agreement with India Potash Limited (IPL) to supply 1 million metric tons of Polysulphate through 2026, with an option to renew the partnership.
Under the five-year agreement, supply volumes will increase each year, reflecting growing demand for the multi-nutrient fertilizer in India. Each shipment will comprise a minimum of 25,000 metric tons and will be distributed evenly throughout the calendar year. Prices and payment terms will be determined periodically by ICL and IPL.
The agreement is expected to strengthen India's push towards sustainable and organic farming by ensuring a steady supply of Polysulphate, a naturally occurring multi-nutrient fertilizer.
Unlike blended or compound fertilizers, Polysulphate is mined in its natural form before being crushed, screened and bagged, without undergoing chemical separation or other industrial processing. This gives it one of the lowest carbon footprints among fertilizers available globally.
Polysulphate also offers a cost-effective crop nutrition solution by delivering four essential plant nutrients—sulfur, potassium, magnesium and calcium—in a form that is released steadily throughout the crop growth cycle.
