Italian engineering and construction company Saipem has secured two offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia, known as Contract Release Purchase Orders (CRPO), under its ongoing Long-Term Agreement with energy giant Aramco.

The first, CRPO 162, spans 32 months and covers the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) of roughly 34 km of pipeline, with diameters of 20” and 30", along with related works on topside structures at the Berri and Abu Safah oil fields.

The second, CRPO 165, set for 12 months, includes subsea interventions at the Marjan field and the EPC of 300 meters of onshore pipeline with associated tie-ins.

For offshore operations, “Saipem will employ its construction vessels that are currently deployed in the region,” the company said.

Fabrication work for both projects will be carried out at Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators Co. Ltd. in Dammam, aimed at “increasing and developing the capabilities of local industry.”

The contracts “strengthen Saipem’s presence in Saudi Arabia and further consolidate its longstanding relationship with Aramco,” the company added, highlighting its expanding footprint in the region.
