Yokogawa Electric Corporation has teamed up with US-based CMC Solutions in a new global agreement to expand the reach of predictive emission monitoring systems (PEMS) beyond the US.
Under the deal, Yokogawa will leverage its worldwide service network to market, install, and support CMC’s PEMS software, giving industrial customers a powerful tool to meet tightening emissions regulations efficiently.
PEMS use data from distributed control systems (DCS) to run advanced algorithms that predict emissions from turbines, boilers, and other industrial equipment. The software also automatically generates electronic emissions reports in regulatory-approved formats, including for the US Environmental Protection Agency.
CMC’s systems are already deployed at over 100 sites across the US and internationally in industries ranging from chemicals to power generation.
Yokogawa, long experienced in hardware-based continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), will now offer end-to-end services for PEMS—including installation, routine audits, and revalidation after process changes—for both new deployments and existing CMC installations. Customers can integrate PEMS with their current CEMS setups for a hybrid system that combines predictive modeling with advanced hardware monitoring.
“This partnership is unique due to the shared vision we have of enabling customers to monitor and minimize their pollutant emission rates efficiently,” said Brian Swanson.
“CMC’s PEMS technology is a proven product with a low total cost of ownership. The CMC statistical hybrid predictive engine interfaces directly with Yokogawa’s DCS to enable their global service team to deploy extremely cost-effective monitoring solutions for customers in various industries operating throughout the world.”
Yasumasa Ogawa added, “We are excited to bring this industry-leading PEMS technology to customers around the world. This agreement reflects the shared vision of both organizations to drive innovation and sustainability in emission monitoring, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for industries worldwide.”
